Louise Thomas Recognition

The Recognition of Much Appreciated Necessary Servants (R.O.M.A.N.S.) Award was presented to Louise Thomas on May 25, 2025 during a worship services. This award is presented to an individual who remains in the background and influences our lives with their unrecognized time and dedication that represents their love and devotion in Christ’s service.

Louise is a member of Hatboro Baptist Church (HBC) who enjoys praising God through music as a member of the choir and participates in the weekly online prayer time.  Her participation in the Congregational Care Ministry (CCM) since 2012 includes sending cards to members and friends who are no longer able to worship in person. She also sends cards for birthdays and special occasions to members who are attending college.

In June, Kasey Gray, a 2025 graduate from Cornell University, shared the importance of the cards she received over her four- years at Cornell in words and a picture of all the cards.

“For the four years I was away at college, one constant in my hectic life was the nearly monthly letters I received from the Congregational Care committee – all sent by Louise. At some point, I started collecting them and have now accumulated 23 cards. Each card was simple, but deeply meaningful, a gently reminder that someone was thinking of me from afar. In the middle of exams, homesickness, or just the stress of figuring out who I was becoming, those cards were little lifelines. She didn’t know how badly I needed a kind word, yet-she wrote. She remembered. She made time. We too often underestimate the power of a small gesture. A card. A prayer. A moment of being seen. But Louise never did.”

Romans 12:6: We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us. Louise, thank you for your faithful service to the members and friends of HBC and sharing your gifts with us.
