Living Histories at Hatboro Baptist Church
Legacy is more than material wealth—it’s the spiritual, moral, and cultural inheritance we pass from one generation to the next. It’s the “standing stones” we place throughout our lives that testify to our faith and values.
Scripture reminds us that we are “like living stones… built into a spiritual house” (1 Peter 2:5). Throughout the Bible, stone pillars served as reminders of God’s presence and faithfulness—Jacob’s pillar at Bethel (Genesis 35:14), Moses’ twelve stone pillars (Exodus 24:4), and Joshua’s stones at Gilgal to teach future generations what the Lord had done (Joshua 4:21–24).
Each “stone” we set in our lifetime tells part of our story—our faith, our lessons, and the ways God has shaped us. Together, these become our living history—our legacy.
Hatboro Baptist Church Legacy
Founded in 1835, Hatboro Baptist Church has been blessed for 190 years by members and friends who have faithfully served through their time, talents, and treasures—building a lasting spiritual legacy that reaches from Hatboro to the world.
One special way to preserve that legacy is through personal stories. Since 2015, I’ve had the privilege of recording memories from several beloved members now in their heavenly home—Betty Campbell, Janice Corson, Betty Held, Doris Albers, and Kitty Trent. Though their lives were different, they shared a deep love for God, faith in Christ, and devotion to HBC.
In May 2025, at our 50+ Member Celebration, I invited others to share their own “Living Histories.” You can read all these stories by clicking the name of the member.
